LINE EDITING

This is the most important step for the readability of your story. The coolest plot in the world isn't likely to gain much reader traction if readers have to trudge along after it. This is the editing that gives your writing life and that page-turning energy.

Once the hard work of writing and revising is done, you do not want to publish typos or a hodgepodge of grammar and spelling uses that, while readers may not quite be able to put their fingers on, will sense as something just feeling . . . off.

If your story features characters who are explicitly aromantic and/or asexual, or who don't engage in romantic or sexual relationships where that might be expected, an authenticity read can be an invaluable tool to make sure you connect with readers without causing harm you didn't intend.
