LINE EDITING

This is the most important step for the readability of your story. The coolest plot in the world isn't likely to gain much reader traction if readers have to trudge along after it. This is the editing that gives your writing life and that page-turning energy.

Once the hard work of writing and revising is done, a close check of grammar, punctuation, and those tiny details of character, world, and timeline goes a long way toward making a story read as something finished.

If your story features characters who are explicitly aromantic and/or asexual, or who don't engage in romantic or sexual relationships where that might be expected, an authenticity read can be an invaluable tool to make sure you connect with readers without causing harm you didn't intend.
